Blast Off In The Basin starts at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at Buckskin Basin Park, 7350 Buckskin Ave. in Las Vegas. The city is presenting it as part of the country\u2019s 250th birthday celebration.
Fireworks and Drone Show Time
The main aerial show is set for 9:15 p.m. and is expected to run about 12 minutes. The display will combine fireworks and drones, with a patriotic music playlist available on Sunny 106.5 FM during the show.
Activities and Cost
Before the sky show, visitors can expect live DJ music, America 250-themed trivia and food trucks with refreshments available for purchase. The event itself is free to attend.
Other Fireworks Viewing Locations
In addition to Buckskin Basin Park, the city lists Wayne Bunker Family Park, 7351 W. Alexander Road, as a viewing area. Two more viewing sites have been added: Children\u2019s Memorial Park, 6601 W. Gowan Road, and the western portion of Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex off Caliche Avenue, east of Buffalo Drive behind Sprouts Market. Those added sites also are expected to have music, prizes and food trucks.
Parking and Access
Parking will be available in park lots, on the eastbound lane of Alexander Road and at Word of Life Christian Center, 3520 N. Buffalo Drive, about two blocks away. Wheelchair-accessible parking will be available on Buckskin Avenue. A drop-off area for strollers, chairs and coolers will be set up on Tenaya Way.
City Officials Expected
Mayor Shelley Berkley and Councilwomen Francis Allen-Palenske and Nancy Brune are scheduled to attend the city celebration.
