What if you are not certified yet?
Applicants do not have to be certified before showing up. Uncertified candidates may attend a fair, complete the tryout process and still be accepted.\n\nIf an uncertified applicant passes the hiring process, city staff can sign them up for a free certification class. The city says American Red Cross lifeguard, water safety instructor and lifeguard instructor certification classes are free for people choosing to work for Las Vegas city pools. Registration for a free class must be completed in person at the pool.
