What the rebate covers
The reopened program applies to 2025 bills. Eligible seniors may seek a rebate for franchise taxes paid on local utility bills, including NV Energy electric service, Southwest Gas natural gas service and CenturyLink or Cox telephone service. The utility bills must be in the applicant\u2019s name.
Who qualifies and current income limits
Applicants must be at least 60 years old, have low income and live within Las Vegas city limits. The city says income limits have been raised, meaning some residents who were denied or did not qualify in the past may now be eligible.\n\nFor this application period, income must be below 150% of the federal poverty level. The listed limits are $23,475 for one person and $31,725 for a household of two. The city points residents with larger households to the federal poverty guideline chart for additional limits.
Application deadline and how to apply
Applications will be accepted from Aug. 1 through Oct. 15, 2026, for rebates tied to 2025 utility and sewer charges. Applications are not available online, and residents must apply in person by appointment at a participating city facility.
Documents to bring
Applicants should bring copies of all 2025 local utility bills for NV Energy, Southwest Gas and CenturyLink or Cox telephone service. They also need photo identification, proof of income, proof the bills were paid and any other supporting paperwork requested for the application.\n\nThe city says the applicant\u2019s identification and bills must show the same physical address.
Sewer rebate for qualifying homeowners
Low-income homeowners age 60 and older may also apply for a partial rebate of 2025 sewer charges for their primary residence within the city of Las Vegas. Homeowners seeking the sewer rebate should bring copies of the sewer bill or bills and proof of payment for 2025 charges.
