Ask what the quote includes, tooth by tooth. Implant pricing is the most confusing in dentistry because a case has at least three components — the surgical placement, the abutment, and the crown — and quotes exist for any combination of them. Two Henderson practices thousands of dollars apart are frequently quoting different scopes rather than different prices. Ask for it itemised and the difference usually shrinks.
Find out who does which stage, and how far apart they are. A number of Henderson practices place and restore in-house, which keeps a months-long case in one building and means one practice owns the outcome. Where the surgery is referred out, that is entirely normal — but agree beforehand who is responsible if the implant fails, because a split case can otherwise leave you between two practices.
Ask about the scan, and about grafting. A cone-beam CT scan is standard before implant placement — it shows bone volume and the position of nerves and sinuses, and it is what turns a plan into a real plan. If bone grafting is likely, get it priced as a possibility now rather than as a surprise later.
Treat an implant as something to maintain, not something finished. Implants do not decay, which leads people to relax about them, but the gum and bone around them can become infected in much the way natural teeth do — and that is the main cause of late failure. Ask what the maintenance schedule looks like, and be honest with yourself about smoking, because it changes the odds more than any choice of practice will.
